There are numerous recreational activities available to families, couples and groups in and around Mojacar town.

Sport and Recreation
	There are beach facilities stretching from Mojacar to Villaricos which include the hire of jet skis, wind surfers pedaloes and banana rides etc. Approximately five miles from Mojacar near Vera there is a water park.
	There is a nine hole golf course near Cortijo Grande, at the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera and an 18 hole golf course in Rocqueta de Mar, a one and a half hour drive from Mojacar.
	Bowling is popular in Mojacar especially during the winter months and there are bowling facilities at La Mata (also a tennis club), Cabrera and Los Gallardos .
	You can contact the Cueva de Lobo Riding School and Simon Barker's Riding School on the road from Garrucha to Turre.

Sopalmo - Sierra Cabrera
Sopalmo is a peaceful little hamlet independent of Mojacar with great charm which gives you access to some beautiful spots in the Sierra Cabrera. From here you can also reach the heights of La Adelfa where there are truly splendid views of the sea and mountains.

La Acantarilla
On the generous slopes of the north east facing mountains, you will find La Acantarilla, filled with groves of orange and fruit trees running alongside streams of water. Not far away is Gatar, where the archaeologist Louis Siret discovered important sites from the Argar Culture.

Rio Abajo
An ecologically viable enclave comprising of many tranquil lagoons. In springtime one can observe a wide variety of migratory birds. One can also find semi-precious stones on the beach.
Mojacar Beach
Here one finds hotels of international standard with a nice variety of beach bars restaurants businesses and some discotheques. There are many opportunities to shop and hire equipment (such as bikes, jet skis, dinghis etc.) along the beach front. The beach is also well tended.
Macenas Beaches
This strip of coast now a part of the Sierra Cabrera - Rio de Aguas National park is a rare example of the survival of unique untouched beaches near to an important holiday resort.
Del Lance and Sombrerico Beaches
These two magnificent beaches at the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera were the location for the filming of the 1972 film Treasure Island starring Orson Welles

Mojacar

Mojacar is a unique dazzling white hilltop village overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and backed by the peaks of the Sierra Cabrera mountains and has a history that, can be traced to 2000BC.

During the heat of the day the village is a sleepy place, as the visitors are relaxing themselves on the beach the villagers are taking their afternoon siesta. At dusk the village awakes as visitors and locals stroll through the narrow streets and join the lively chatter from countless little bars. Mojacar illuminates the valley below giving the appearance of fairy lights on a Christmas tree.

The very different Mojacar beach just a couple of miles below the village has all the facilities of a modern beach resort with miles of sand and a comfortable number of beach bars, discos and shops. For the more energetic, all manner of water sports are available from surfing to sailing. Peace and tranquility can be found at Tower beach and Treasure Island Cove. There are also riding stables where Andalucian horses can be hired for riding through untamed mountain country
